The Buddhists insist on “Right Speech” or “Conscious Speech” as a vital element in ending suffering and enhancing life. The challenge here is to fully express one's truth, in any circumstances, whilst listening to the other person's truth and reduce the chance of conflict. I am interested in communication that reaches this depth. I believe it's one of the most powerful ways of sustaining life giving relationships and transcending violence. It’s also the only way we can fulfil our deepest needs for authenticity, meaningful connection, community and intimacy.

NVC Training Workshop at the GalGael Trust (Sep-Oct 08)Nonviolent Communication was developed by Marshal Rosenberg and now taught all over the world. It is the most powerful approach to communication I've come across. I was trained by Liz Kingsnorth, an NVC certified trainer based in Edinburgh and India. I quickly became enthusiastic about the power of NVC to enhance relationships and resolve conflicts quickly and effectively.

I started to teach NVC in 2007 with the support of a small grant from Scotland UnLtd. Since then, I’ve taught the foundation of NVC to community groups (including the GalGael Trust in Govan) & individuals and have been involved in formal and informal conflict mediations.

I run two bi-weekly practice groups at the Pearce Institute in Govan (Mondays 6-8pm & Fridays 3-5pm). They are open to anyone who has done the foundation training and is keen to continue practicing NVC within a supportive group.

I am available to groups & organisations to run training in the NVC approach. I can also facilitate conflict mediation & one-to-one conflict coaching sessions. If you are interested in any of the above, please contact me.

Please note, I am not a Center for Nonviolent Communication certified trainer. I have been practicing for several years, assist certified trainers on a regular basis in delivering training events and get supervision from one of them on a regular basis.
